Note: The engine check light must be working.
Using the workshop manual follow the procedure to extract the codes, explain briefly what is the procedure.
- I Turn the ignition on but didn't start.the engine.
- The engine dash lights cames on. (battery, oil, Engine lights normal appear)
- To read the flash codes you have to see how many times the engine light flashes.
- The engine light flashes then stops is the first digit, after a pose it flashes agane is the second digite.
- If there is more than one thing wrong the light will flash then stop for few seconds then start flashing again diffrent number of times , (if it flashes different number of times then this is a different fault).
- aftere reading the codes refer to the manual table above to see what folts they are.
- In order to read the codes you must jumper connect the 5,6 together.
2 Trouble Codes or Fault Codes
2.1 Find where the Codes are listed
2.2 Record any codes, and what system and condition they describe in the chart below (Example: might be code number 21, for Throttle Position Sensor, signal voltage too low)
3 Visual Inspection to find fault
3.1 did a visual inspection under the bonnet to find where the problem is.
- When i looked under the bonnet i did a volt drop on the the vacuume sensor, and the voltage was no reading ,the fuse to the sensor has bean disconnected
- When I observed the throttle positioning sensor i saw the output wire and the ground wire has bein broken, so we replaced the plug.
- lastly the intake air temperature sensor was not giving out a reading in the multimeter so we connected it back on, unplug the battery for 30 sends to let the memory restart then cranked the engine, witch sounded much smoother.
